The PCI-X SATAStar is base on SiI3124 chipset with drivers available for the MacOSX 10.4.x, Windows, Linux and others for both RAID and non-RAID operations. The PCI-X host adapter is designed for optimum performance with multiple commands for each port which are loaded into on-chip memory eliminating the need for host CPU intervention. Command execution engines dramatically reduce latency between commands, ensuring that drives stay fully loaded with queued commands. Supporting high capacity and sustained data transfer, is ideal for connecting to video and photo editing "scratch disks", huge photo/MP3/movie libraries and small to medium business file servers
