One single Mini-SAS cable can be used for pure 6Gbp/s SAS performance! Low cost JBOD expander units can be attached and simply chained together with a Mini-SAS cable, to the parent RAID, endlessly expanding volume sizes, while retaining performance and redundancy. The Vanguard Elite also has 2x Mini-SAS ports available for host, allowing it to be attached to more than one host system, or both mapped to a single volume that enables the use of multi-path I/O (MPIO) applications.
